Happy
59th Birthday Singapore!
Celebrate with National Day songs!
Sing along session
Our Little Music Explorers learned how to sing National Day tunes while waving our flag up high. We were surprised to see them knowing the lyrics. They must've heard it on our local radio or television channels before!
Energetic and upbeat, the 'We Are Singapore' song is one many can still recognise upon hearing today's opening notes. Featuring uplifting lyrics, this song is usually a hit amongst children who will have fun dancing and singing along!
Did you know?
We Are Singapore was composed by Canadian Hugh Harrison, a former jazz pianist. It was actually the third national song he composed for the Singapore government. He was also the composer for Stand Up for Singapore (1984) and Count on Me Singapore (1986).
Learning music with syallables
Little Explorers learned music rhythm notation by using syllables from Singapore's landmarks. They identified these iconic locations such as Jewel Changi Airport and recognised them.
Singapore's thriving blend of cultures and cuisines drives the bustling street markets. Our Little Explorers learned our favorite dishes such as curry puff, laksa, and chicken rice to integrate into various musical rhythm patterns.
